New York's Yiddish Theater: From the Bowery to Broadway displayed at the Museum of the City of New York from March to August 2016.

This exhibition featured over 250 objects exploring the Yiddish theater culture of the Lower East Side throughout the turn of the 20th century. Featuring ephemera from the comedies, dramas, and political theater of the time, New York's Yiddish Theater showcased the legacy of Second Avenue as "Yiddish Broadway." I served as an exhibition designer with the team at Pure+Applied to bring this work to life.

Overall Gallery Plan

Visitors were encouraged to enter the exhibit via the Southeast gallery entrance, where they explored a chronological narrative of Yiddish theater's impact on the culture of Manhattan's Lower East Side as they made their way through the gallery. The exhibition design featured modular "pods" that fit together in the center,  characterized by raw 4x4 timber to encourage a "backstage" feel.
